Primary 2 and 3 Cross Country has finished for this season. The children have done incredibly well and all have improved their fitness and determination (especially when running in the cold wintry weather!). This year around 30 children consistently came to the training sessions and 6 boys and 6 girls have now been selected to run in the McRobert Cup. It’s always hard to select the team and even harder this year as we had so many keen and able children… but we’re hoping that they’ve all had a positive taste of this sport and will come back again next year! The 12 children who will be running in the competition know who they are and they should make sure they have their running kit with them on a Monday and Wednesday each week (with the exception of the 4th as many are away at the music festival).
The P4-7 children have also been training hard all year with Mr Scott-Woodhouse and he has selected his runners who will continue to train after school on a Thursday but should also bring their running kit every Monday for an additional training session (during school time) with Mr Baillie.
Please join me in wishing the boys and girls all the best for their big race on the 19th and also in thanking Mrs Long, Mrs Black and Mrs Steele for being my wonderful parent helpers with the younger children – it made it a LOT easier having you there to help (and run around after the children!).
