The whole school got involved in celebrating the European Day of Languages, with each class learning about a different European country.
Primary One did an amazing job of embracing a different culture. In the home corner an Italian restaurant appeared, they made the Italian flag and the children feasted on pizzas.
Primary 5/6 took on some research to find out about Greece and then spent the afternoon making their own Greek style pots.
Most classes learned some words or phrases and some classes were lucky enough to have a visitor who could tell them about the country. A few of our pupils read to classes in their home language.
We’re really lucky at Crown to have so many families from all over the world and we’d love to see more parents and carers coming in to teach us about their home country. Do get in touch if you’d like to join a class one day and share a story, a song or some information to help us all to get to know each other even better!
