Millburn Pupils’ Visit to Romania

Image result for pairs of childrens shoesA request for support from Millburn pupils. Crown has supported this very worthwhile cause before and I hope we will again. A good motivator for me to have a good dig in the back of my shoe cupboard during the October holidays….

“As a Business Studies Teacher in Millburn Academy I organise and lead a group of S5 students on a trip to Romania at the end of the summer term and into the summer holidays.  During this trip we run a week-long summer camp and also work for 6 days at an orphanage.

A couple of years ago the team were so aware of the plight of children and their need for shoes so they ran a project called “Happy Feet” that collected good condition unwanted shoes, boots, trainers etc in conjunction with our feeder primaries.

This year’s team would like to once again run this project and was wondering if your school would like to get involved.

They are proposing that collections start after the October holidays and end on 11 November to allow them to get them sorted, packed and shipped in time for Christmas running alongside the shoebox appeal that many schools, including ours, operate. Thank you.”
