‘Hop along’ to Crown Primary School over the Easter Holiday to lend a hand with a gardening session and spring clean up of the nursery and school garden / grounds on Friday 13th April 2018 from 09.30am
Parents / carers bring your kids (and kids bring your mums, dads, carers, grandparents and friends!) to have as many pairs of hands, or green fingers, as we can rustle up to assist with the Spring clean up of the school garden.
We have fantastic outdoor resources, learning and recreational spaces at the school, but they are hugely improved for all our children with this annual task. Let’s look after our own school grounds and environment, for the enjoyment of all.
Jobs include: Pruning, weeding, seeding, feeding, sweeping, creating and playing (lots of it).
Whatever the weather (unless a total and utter washout), we will be there and will be delighted to instruct on tasks if required (no gardening expertise required, just a willingness to help).
Wear warm and waterproof clothes, plus bring a snack or pack lunch and you will enjoy the day more. We have lots of tools within the garden but you are also welcome to bring some along (secateurs and sharp tools etc). We have confirmed that there will be access to the staffroom to make a coffee, and the toilets will be open to us.
Please be aware that you are responsible for your own children when the school is not open, but we will collectively endeavour to supervise all the children within the grounds on the day, so everybody enjoys being there.
Please let the school, or us, know in advance if you can be there, as this will assist in planning the activities and tasks. However we will never turn away someone who appears on the day.
Many thanks and looking forward to gardening with you, Julie & Deirdre (Parents)
