And finally we’re on the look out for any creative people out there to help with face painting on the day… please let us know if you are able to help for an hour or so!

Can our hockey players please be aware that we have been invited to play in a friendly game with Milton of Leys on Tuesday 5th May, straight after school until 4:30? To get the children there, we’ll need help with transport, so if any parents/carers are free that would be great!

Also, please note that the Highland Hockey Club and Inverness Junior Hockey tournament is on Saturday 9th May in Nairn, so keep this date free!

Interschool Sports

Each year schools are invited to enter teams of Primary 5-7 pupils into the Interschool Sports Athletics competition held at Bught Park. This year the competition will take place on Saturday 30th May and training will start this week for any interested children.  All children who attend the training sessions MUST be able to attend all day on the 30th May, so please double-check your availability before allowing your child to take part.

The training is open to girls and boys in P5-7 and will run every Thursday from 3.00-4.00. As Mr Scott-Woodhouse is off at the moment recovering from a knee operation, Mrs Danby has kindly offered to come back and train the children 🙂 All children will take part in the training and only when closer to the competition date, will the team be selected.

A note should be coming home with your child on Monday, please sign and return this as soon as possible.

Our Aims

A couple of years ago the children, parents and staff created a set of aims to tell everyone what our school is all about. At our P5-7 assembly this week we took a look at our school aims (that nobody could remember!) and asked if we were still happy with them, do we have too many, and what might we be missing? We’d now like to involve all parents/carers in the process and would like you to look at the list below and select your TOP THREE aims for our school.  Please leave a comment with your selections and we’ll add your suggestions to the children’s and look for any overlaps. If you feel something important is missing, please leave a comment sharing your thoughts. Thank you in advance for taking the time to help shape our vision for the school. Crown School aims to be a place where:-

  • Everyone feels happy and safe and treats each other fairly
  • We listen to each other and respect everyone’s views even if they are different to ours
  • We work with and learn with our families, people in the community and across the world
  • We all keep learning about how to be healthy and feel good about ourselves
  • We continue to be an Eco School
  • We take part in challenges so that we can use our own ideas and be creative
  • We do tasks, including fun tasks which are at the right level for us and help us to be successful now and when we are grown-ups
  • Our successes in school and out of school are celebrated
  • Everyone looks after our school buildings and the grounds and works together to make it a very good place to play and learn in
  • Our work is displayed for all to see
  • There are displays that help us to learn and remember things
  • We want all of the grown-ups in our school to be really good at their jobs and get any training or help they need to be the best.
